Back in January, we were pretty surprised when house music heavyweight Claude VonStroke dropped a 10-Track hip-hop album under his real name, Barclay Crenshaw. Even more to our surprise, the LP was not only incredibly well done, but even included features from Mr. Carmack, The Underachievers, The Cool Kids and more. Now, as if to close out the year, Barclay has shared a remix album of his first ever hip-hop project - Barclay Crenshaw Revisited.
“Be warned! Listening to this release could have long-term repercussions on your well being and your perception of reality.” - Barclay Crenshaw
It’s always inspiring to see innovative artists switch up their style and continue to release incredible content, regardless of genre. While Barclay’s self-titled LP and his collabs with Eprom undoubtedly helped redefined what we’d expect from Dirtybird, this latest eight-track offering continues to push the envelope even further. Featuring wonky, bass-heavy remixes from Eprom, Bleep Bloop and Salva, light hearted reworks from Deebs and Persian Empire and even a brand new collab with Mad Zach, Barclay continues to transcend the confines of genres in order to share genuinely incredible music. Check out Barclay Crenshaw Revisited below and enjoy!
