When a young artist has written & produced music behind the scenes for numerous high profile artists like Jay Z and Beyonce, they’re typically worth keeping an eye on. That’s exactly what we have with multi-instrumentalist & singer Knox Brown as he releases his debut EP, Searching.
The talented artist moved from Jamaica to Birmingham, England when he was 12 years old and this mixed cultural upbringing is embodied in his eclectic sound. Brown brings a dancehall-inspired approach to contemporary soul and hip-hop as he handles all the production duties and instrument playing including saxophone, piano and bass.
Brown brings his organic, gospel roots as he recruits a couple of the more soulful artists the hip-hop landscape has to offer with Anderson .Paak on “No Slaves” and BJ The Chicago Kid on “Harry’s Code” in addition to fellow London artist Kojey Radical. Enjoy!
