Los Angeles DJ/producer Getter has been on a dubstep bender the past few months, but switches things up with his latest single, "Something New", on OWSLA. As opposed to diving right into the meat of the production, he gradually sets the stage by incorporating live oceanside sound effects and cinematic elements. From birds cawing in the distance to waves rushing up and down the sand, Getter paints a soothing summer piece.
His previous releases, such as "Wat The Frick" and "Rip N Dip", rely heavily on intense builds and blistering drops while his newest output revolves around vivid imagery and bright melodies that cater to a catchy vocal chop sequence. "Something New" runs down a similar lane as his peaceful 2014 single, "Stay A While", and is one of seven tracks to land on his forthcoming Wat The Frick EP out on Sept. 2. Enjoy!
