Mac Miller’s fourth studio album The Divine Feminine is now available to stream and download. The 10-track LP features a star-studding cast include Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, Ty Dolla $ign and more.
It's been an inspiring road so far for Mac who has risen from high school mixtape sensation to one one of hip-hop’s most prominent artists today. He’s been releasing music since 2007 so it can be easy to forget that he’s only 24-years-old and still maturing, both personally and musically. The rapper recently joined Zane Lowe to share he's "actually completely 100% sober now for the past few months" and is much happier than he’s been in the past few years.
The Divine Feminine brings out a new sound from Mac. You don’t have to get very far into the album to realize he’s writing these songs from a different state of mind than his previous bodies of work. For one, he sings a lot. Also, much of the album is about love.
He says the project is inspired by the female energy and brings a much more soulful, instrumental approach to his sound than we’ve become used to hearing. The LP is filled with incredibly chill beats that make for a smooth listen start to finish. We also hear a combination of jazzy instrumentals focused on live horns, guitars and keys, as well as hazy electronic elements. Mac previously shared a handful of impressive singles like "Dang!" with Anderson .Paak and "We" with CeeLo Green. The album is now available in it's entirety below. Enjoy!
