Talented rising artist Allan Rayman has released his impressive sophomore album Roadhouse 01. The mysterious artist effortlessly blends genres putting a modern hip-hop spin on classic soul music and exceeded our expectations on his latest release.
As an artist who keeps to himself and lets his music do the talking, it’s no surprise he wrote Roadhouse 01 while isolated in a house in the woods, and you can feel this sense of solitude in the music. This project is actually a concept album from the perspective of his alter-ego Mr. Roadhouse. Allan Rayman’s unique voice and the way he uses it is what sets him apart on his latest. He has an rough old-school voice that’s both raspy and smooth at the same time.
His unique versatility shines throughout the 13 tracks as he walks the line between hip-hop and R&B while capturing a sort of rural country vibe as well. The production combines a number of different influences as he places soulful, bluesy instrumentation with trappy hip-hop percussion in a way that’s entirely his own. The album has minimal features and actually grabs a guest appearance from Jessie Reyez, who’s an incredibly talented rising vocalist we’ve been excited about. Keep an eye on Allan Rayman and enjoy!
