Gorillaz are currently working on their much anticipated 5th studio album as their first release since 2010. We previously shared news of the forthcoming album, and now we have an update as to when we can expect a release.
Now Gorillaz collaborator Jaime Hewlett has taken to the Gorillaz North American Instagram fan page to inform us that the initial plan to release their untitled album in 2016 has been pushed back. This isn't necessarily bad news as Hewlett states the album "is special, really fuckin special. Can't be rushed. 2017, yo."
This is a project we can be patient for as we'd like them to take their time to ensure its as good as possible. While little is known on their 5th studio album, we've seen clips of studio footage from what could potentially be the first glimpse into the album, as well as a picture that leads us to believe Vic Mensa is an album collaborator. Stay tuned for more info!
