If Panama isn’t on your radar yet, now is definitely the time to add him to your list. The impressive synthpop project is manned solely by producer and vocalist Jarrah McCleary, a masterful artist who’s been creating as Panama since 2010. This week the Australia-based producer shared his Hope For Something EP, a dreamy, synth-driven offering perfect for the first official few days of summer.
Hope For Something exudes a light-hearted, upbeat vibe despite some of the heavy themes it deals with lyrically. The entire EP is wrought with lush synth melodies, smooth vocals and crisp percussion. Some standouts include “I Watched You Slip,” a relaxed funk-infused track, and “The Highs,” with its compelling piano melodies and lower-frequency synth breakdowns. From start to finish the EP is a tranquil ride that showcases the many talents of McCleary. Stream Hope For Something, out now via Future Classic, below and enjoy!
